Physical ergonomics
Design physical work around human capability.
Physical ergonomics is not simply about posture. It is about whether the forces, movements, reaches, working heights, repetition, duration and recovery built into a task are compatible with the people expected to perform it.

Where we add value
Challenges we help solve.
- Workers report discomfort or recurring musculoskeletal symptoms.
- A production or technical task involves awkward reach, repetition, force or constrained posture.
- A new workstation, line, tool or equipment layout needs ergonomic input before implementation.
- An organisation needs a structured way to screen and prioritise ergonomic risk across many tasks.
Consulting approach
Rigour that leads to better decisions.
Each engagement is scoped around the decision, operating context and consequence. We combine direct observation, appropriate HFE methods and senior professional judgement so recommendations are proportionate, defensible and practical to implement.
Observe the task under normal operating conditions and understand variability, pace and workarounds.
Characterise relevant physical demands including posture, force, repetition, reach, duration, recovery and environmental constraints.
Apply appropriate assessment methods and professional judgement without treating a score as the answer.
Develop design options with operations, workers and engineering, then validate the change in use.
Client value
Clear direction for implementation.
- Risk picture and task priorities
- Workstation, layout, tool and task-redesign recommendations
- Design requirements and dimensional considerations
- Implementation sequence and validation criteria
- Worker/supervisor coaching or internal capability building when required
Context-specific delivery
International HFE, applied to the realities of your operation.
Human Factors & Ergonomics is most effective when it reflects the people, technology, standards, culture and constraints of the actual work system. Our practice is based in Singapore, with engagements structured around the specific context of each client and project location.

Client questions
What organisations often ask.
What is a physical ergonomics assessment?
It is a structured review of how physical work demands interact with human capability. A good assessment combines observation, task analysis, suitable methods and practical redesign rather than relying on a single posture score.
Do you only assess individual workers?
No. Individual workstation reviews are one service, but many projects focus on tasks, production systems, equipment, workplaces or organisation-wide ergonomic risk.
Can you review a design before it is built?
Yes. Early HFE input can review drawings, prototypes, layouts, reach, working height, access, visibility and task requirements before changes become expensive to correct.
